6th Annual Invitation Softball Tournament

MEN'S OPEN DIVISION POOL PLAY

FORMAT: There will be two divisions of 4 teams in Pool Play; Pool A and B on Saturday, 9/13/08.

At the conclusion of “Pool Play”, the first place teams in both divisions (Seed 1) will play the fourth place teams (Seed 4) and the second place teams (Seed 2) will play the third place teams (Seed 3). Double Elimination games will begin on Saturday following “Pool Play.”

In the case of a tie in pool play, the following format will be used to break the tie:

  1. Head to head amongst the tied teams.
  2. Run differential amongst the tied teams (games); i.e., “A” defeats “B”…27 – 6. “A” has a +21; “B” has a –21.
  3. Run differential in all games.
  4. Total runs scored.
  5. Coin flip.

Note: If a team is eliminated during any step of the tiebreaker format, format is then reverted back to Step “1” and start process over amongst the remaining tied teams.
